Tswaranang, is a non-profit organisation (NGO) operating in Juju Valley bordering on Seshego  Zone 1, with the aim of preventing crime as well as drug and alcohol abuse. Speaking for the organisation, Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) Ward 13 Councillor Mongatane Ramapoko, said the NGO is planning a three-day anti-drug abuse campaign aimed at the youth in the area at the Seshego Zone 1 Complex starting tomorrow (Friday) and ending on Sunday.
“The first day will consist of a clean-up campaign. On Saturday the main event will take place. There will be various motivational speakers including representatives of the Department of Justice and Sanca. There will be live entertainment by up and coming local artists. On Sunday there will be a soccer tournament,” Ramapoko said.
He said drug abuse, predominantly nyaope is a scourge that has taken control of the youth. “If the community, business, government and other organisations don’t join hands against it, the future of our country is doomed. Today’s addicts will be tomorrow’s leaders if we don’t do something now,” he further said. He called on all interested parties who want to make a difference to contact Tswaranang on 078 679 3172 or 079 654 7873.
