Members of the two Round Table clubs in Polokwane, Impala 157 and Pietersburg 22 assisted members of the Round Table Tzaneen 96 to offload a large delivery of bottled water over the last week, with the final delivery being made on Tuesday night.
The 1 800 five litre bottles of water were delivered to Uniclox in Polokwane and will ultimately be transported to Cape Town in an effort to assist the shortage of water there.
Speaking on behalf of the Tzaneen club, vice chairman Leon de Lange said the project was started by the Round Table Pretoria 201 and when they heard about the initiative, they decided to collect water in their area to add to the Pretoria club’s.
“We were delighted with the response of everyone who came on board and assisted us to get the water together and have it transported to Polokwane,” De Lange said.
