KINROSS – The police are following up leads into the murder of Mr Jullian Kapp (43).
The Ridge Times published an article, “Family wants police to say why”, on 22 November in which the family raised concerns that the police did not treat the home of Mr Kapp as a crime scene.
According to Capt Thil Matlala the police had received a report from paramedics that Mr Kapp had died from an epileptic fit, but the autopsy showed that he was beaten and strangled.
The Kapp family had to return to their home in Port Elizabeth.
The Ridge Times followed up with the brother of Mr Kapp, Mr Louis Kapp, to see if they have received more information regarding the matter.
According to Mr Kapp the police have not made any attempt to contact them concerning their progress.
“This whole situation is frustrating for both my mother and me, we feel helpless because we are back in Port Elizabeth with no communication from the police in Kinross.
“We are having sleepless nights and cannot rest until the people who had killed my brother are brought to justice.”
According to Capt Thil Matlala from Kinross Police Station there has been progress in Mr Kapp’s case.
“We are following up on leads, but cannot disclose any information as the case is still being investigated.”
