New Denmark’s fun golf day
Come rain, wind or shine they will always be on a golf course.
STANDERTON – Aldo Arnaldi, Ian Harper, Wikus Fourie and Nick Momberg were the overall winners of the recent New Denmark Colliery (NDC) Golf Day.
Golf is not only a professional game, it could be a lot of fun.
NDC was the main sponsor and 44 players were invited to enjoy a round of 18 holes.
The four ball did not stop there since they were also nearest to the marker, holes one to 10, and between the marked lines on hole five.
Andrew Harper, Steven Schnetler, Warren Landman and Pieter van Niekerk were nearest with two shots on holes nine to 18.
Eleven teams with four players participated.
Everyone had to tee off on the ladies tee’s and the four ball’s handicaps were added up and divided by eight.
When a hole was played, the best shot out of the four was used for the score.
The looming clouds in the sky did not deter the players of enjoying it.
In second place were Chris Mahlangu, Keith Trueman, Johan van Rensburg and Pierre Schnetler.
Jacques Bischoff, Wim van Niekerk, Theuns Adendorff and Stephen Nortjé were third.
Mr Keith Trueman, Financial Manager of NDC, congratulated the Standerton Country Club on the outstanding condition of the fairways and greens.
“It was a fun day and I hoped everybody who participated enjoyed the day with NDC,” Mr Gawie Krugel, Mining Manager of NDC, said.
He also said the food was excellent.
Pierre Schnetler thanked NDC for their continued support towards the Country Club and said it is a privilege to be associated with NDC.
