eMBALENHLE – A 26-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping a woman (36) on Saturday evening, 23 March.
Capt Magonseni Nkosi, spokesman for the local police, said the woman was walking when the man grabbed her and forced her to a nearby field next to the Risko Fakude Stadium and raped her and stole her cell phone.
The woman managed to escape when the man fell asleep and reported him to the police.
The police found the man sleeping in the field and arrested him.
Capt Nkosi said the man used a fork to intimidate the woman.
He appeared in the Evander Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 24 March, for rape and robbery.
