A man was arrested after he assaulted his girlfriend on 15 January and will appear in the Standeton Magistrate’s Court on 10 April.
The girlfriend wanted to go to her home and the suspect found her preparing to leave and asked her why she is leaving without his permission and assaulted her.
His sister heard the girlfriend screaming and came in and took her to a room and locked it.
The perpetrator tried to open the door, but failed and they called the police.
A case of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm was opened.
