Tow truck driver makes headlines again

The man is known for his temper and assault of people.

SECUNDA – Well known diving and bomb technician Constable Andries Lee, was recently assaulted at a local night club.

It is alleged that Const Lee saw the bouncer of the club having issues with a man and went to see if he could help.

According to Const Lee, he was struck with a fist on his left ear by a friend of the man with who the bouncer was having a problem.

This caused Const Lee’s ear drum to burst.

The man who assaulted Const Lee is apparently known for his violent and aggressive temper.

The Ridge Time recently reported about the man having assaulted two road side assistant men at a local garage.

A case of assault and intimidation was opened.

According to W/O Thulani Gamede, communications person for the local police: “The man was arrested for other cases laid against him, charged and was released on a warning (SAPS 496), but he is still attending the trial while the investigations are taking place.”

He said the man appeared in court on 9 April and the case was postponed until 6 May.

All cases pending against him will be tried on the same date.

Const Lee is currently not allowed to dive for a month, thereafter the doctor will determine if he would need an operation and whether he will ever be able to dive again.

“I am speechless about this whole situation.

“How can he just be released on a warning?” asked Const Lee.

He has dedicated four years to diving and is the only diving expert in the district.

According to him the next closest diving expert is in Middleburg.
