A neighbour of Mr Senzo Ndlovu alerted the local police of suspicious activities in the house next door about noon on Thursday, 15 May. At the same time Kasselman Security Services arrived on the scene at 14 Spruce Avenue in Kosmospark, after the alarm went off.
On the way, Mr Vusi Nkosi of Kasseman, noticed a white BMW sedan travelling at a high speed out of town towards Secunda.
He arrived at the residence to find the the thieves had gained access to the house through the back door.
Mr Ndlovu arrived home about 12.45pm and after a thorough investigation realised that they made way with a flat screen television and a couple of remotes.
Mr Nkozi said that at about the same time, the same car was noticed in Maroela Street and a break-in was also reported where the back door was used to gain entry. “It seems that a syndicate is involved with these break-ins.”
The neighbours of Mr Ndlovu could only give a partial description of the number plate of the vehicle, ending with GP.
Lt Fanie Nhlabathi said Standerton Police arrested two suspects for the housebreaking and theft in Kosmospark.
The Secunda K9 unit arrested the suspects in Charl Cilliers.
“The vehicle is suspected to have been used in different housebreakings that were committed around Standerton.”
