Copper cable stolen at Isibonelo Mine

Two alleged copper cable thiefs receive R1 000 bail each.

TRICHARDT – Local police arrested two men, aged 33 and 39 years, for theft of copper cable.

It was apparently stolen at the Isibonelo Mine on 24 June.

According to Const Valencia Koma, communications officer of Trichardt Police, the case was opened the next day.

It was forwarded to the detective branch unit where an investigation was conducted by Det W/O Vusi Sindane.

Both men appeared in the Secunda Magistrate’s Court on 3 July after being arrested in Leslie the previous day.

They were released on R1 000 bail each and will again appear in court on 22 July.

The estimated value of the stolen copper is about R30 000.
