Residents plan to picket at court

Court packed for murder case.

EVANDER – The Evander Magistrate’s Court was packed to capacity when two men aged 26 to 23 appeared briefly on Wednesday, 16 July in connection with the murder of Ms Nelly Sibanyoni (45).

The case was postponed to 23 July for further investigation.

Ms Sibanyoni was found dead by her husband, Freddy, in their home in Extension 9 in eMbalenhle last month.

Capt Magonseni Nkosi, spokesman for the eMbalenhle Police, said she was apparently strangled with an electric cord during a house-breaking.

The men were remanded in custody and residents are planning to picket outside court during their next appearance to oppose bail.
