Victims of housebreaking are on the rise.

A man’s house was broken into on 25 July and with criminals even stealing a bottle of whiskey, residents should take precautionary measures to secure their homes.

While the crime rate continues to escalate, more people lose valuable belongings.

Goods valued at R1 129 were stolen during a housebreaking in Sakhile on 25 July.

The complainant left his house to visit his friend.

Upon arrival the next day he found the door slightly open and some items were missing. These included a television, DVD-player, a bottle of whiskey and shoe spray.

The complainant reported the matter at the Sakhile Police Station.
