Sasol employees volunteer for community work
Sasol remains committed to invest in the enhancement of quality education in Mpumalanga.
SECUNDA – Sasol employees recently donated basic toiletries to Trichardtsfontein and Embidini Primary Schools.
More than 160 school girls benefited from this programme.
Sasol women employees donated toiletries and sanitary pads in support of this worthy cause through Sasol’s employee volunteer programme.
Sasol motivates its employees to become volunteer workers who act, care and create value not just at work, but in the communities we live and work in.
Sasol defines volunteering as a personal commitment to donate their time, resources, skills and knowledge to make a contribution.
The lack of access to sanitary protection and towels disempowers girls, as they have to stay at home resulting in substantial loss on valuable learning time.
The cost of sanitary ware and towels is beyond the reach of most young women and girls, who in Africa are the majority of the unemployed and those living in poverty.
“Sasol remains committed to invest in the enhancement of quality education in Mpumalanga and we will continue to support initiatives of this nature,” said Ms Mashudu Ndou, Community Social Responsibility and Community Affairs.
“We sincerely hope that this donation will make a difference in the lives of these school girls.”
