SECUNDA – Mr Rymond Bruwer decided to broaden his horizons and began his own company where he focuses on safety.
He has been living in Secunda since 1992 and worked as an operational group leader at Sasol for years.
Mr Bruwer was also involved with the Community Awareness Emergency Response (Caer) where he gave the public training on safety.
His work involves among others, risk assessment, emergency planning and emergency exercises.
This man can give courses in safety harness use and inspection training, inspection of fire and safety equipment, airline mask training, fire training and working on heights.
“It has been my passion for years and I am living it now,” said Mr Bruwer.
He wants to make the public aware of dangers and share with them how to face certain dangerous situations in their surroundings.
Mr Bruwer grew up in Sasolburg and joined the army after school.
He spent 10 years in the army where he worked in the fire department.
He obtained his national diploma in fire technology and then moved to Secunda.
In his free time he enjoys gardening and wood work.
He wants to help schools with their emergency procedures and also have talks at schools or companies about safety.
Mr Bruwer can also help people to ensure the environment they live in, is safe.
