Driver sustains minor injuries
A bakkie smashed into the back of a truck on the Volkrust Road.
A bakkie that had a trailer with calves on it bumped into a truck on the Volksrust Road and the bakkie driver sustained minor injuries on 7 November.
The bakkie, apparently on its way towards the Standerton Auction Grounds, smashed into the back of the truck.
According to the truck driver, a bus driver overtook both vehicles and stopped in front of the truck.
The truck driver also stopped after realising that the bus is stopping and the bakkie, behind the truck, also stopped, but the trailer pushed it forward and the vehicle collided with the truck.
This road is currently under construction with stop and goes to control the traffic and the accident occurred close to one them.
According to one of the stop and go workers, motorists are not allowed to overtake at a stop and go and there are signs clearly showing it, which are ignored, with motorists driving at a high speed.
The tow bar connected to the trailer broke and got under the vehicle.
The police and the ambulance arrived on the scene and the driver of the vehicle was taken to hospital because he was complaining about his head and neck. Colleagues of the bakkie driver connected the trailer with the calves, which were unharmed, to another bakkie.
