Police hope eMba will become a drug-free area
eMbalenhle police arrest six suspects in connection with drug dealing.
eMBALENHLE – The local police said they arrested another six people in drug-related issues.
A 33-year-old man was arrested at the Extension 4 four-way stop after a tip off from a community member.
He was searched in a taxi and apparently had in his possession a plastic bag containing 225 cubes of Nyaope with an estimated value of R9 000.
He appeared in the Evander Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday 3 December.
The other five men were arrested on 3 November and were apparently in possession of nine rolls and a 20 litre bucket containing dagga.
Capt Magonseni Nkosi said he was pleased that the six men were arrested and that these arrests will send a message to drug dealers that their days are numbered.
“We celebrate these successes, but more arrests are coming.
“We are working with the community to see that our area becomes a drug-free area.
“We believe that housebreakings are a result of the increased in the use of drugs.
“If drug addicts do not have the money to buy drugs, they will do anything possible to get money, especially by committing crime.
“We ask the dealers to stop killing our nation.”
