SECUNDA – Many people are of the opinion that the CBD is deteriorating since the Secunda Mall has opened.
As you walk through the CBD you cannot overlook the rubbish, open manholes, hawkers and people urinating in public.
Business owners complained about the illegal hawkers and the Echo and Ridge Times have reported on this issue numerous times.
Some business owners said their refuse does not get removed by the municipality as per the contract their have.
The Ridge Times asked the head of marketing and communications of the Govan Mbeki Municipality, Mr Henry Masango, why the refuse is not being removed, what the municipality is going to do to improve the service in the CBD and when they are going to fix the open manholes.
He however did not comment at the time of going to press.
