eMZINONI – Capt Abel Mahlangu, station commander of eMzinoni Police Station, said the relation between the police and the community is helping to reduce crime in the area.
He said it has resulted in many successful arrests over the festive season.
Among other successes, two well-known dagga dealers were arrested for being in possession of dagga worth more than R10 000 in street value.
Electrical appliances, including welding machines and a sound system, were also recovered and one suspect was arrested in December.
He was also linked with three other housebreakings in the same month.
Capt Mahlangu said with the help of residents much can be achieved in dealing with crime in the area.
“Together we can make our area a crime-free area.
“I ask residents to keep on reporting any crime or suspicious people in the area.”
