Sewage has been flowing into the Vaal River next to Johann Street in Meyerville since May last year according to concerned residents.
The Standerton Advertiser reported on the matter on 5 September and contacted the ward councillor of Meyerville, Mr Louis Jansen van Rensburg.
He said at the time he was disgusted that the matter has not been seen too by the Lekwa Municipality.
He personally sent a letter to the Municipal Manager informing him of the situation, but still nothing has been done.
“Now the municipality tells us not to drink the water, but they do nothing about the sewage flowing into the Vaal, the same river our drinking water comes from,” Mr Elijah Habile of 2A Johann Street said.
