eMBALENHLE – A 33-year-old job scamster was arrested recently after after a security guard supervisor visited Sasol Club and noticed many people at the premises.
He asked what was happening and was told that people were promised security guard jobs by the suspect.
The applicants were expected to pay R300 when they submitted their CVs.
The supervisor learnt that the suspect was not employed by Sasol Mining and that he was defrauding the applicants.
The police were summoned and he was arrested.
Capt Magonseni Nkosi, police spokesman, warned people to not pay for jobs, because there are many fraudsters out there who take advantage of the unemployed.
He said bribing someone to get a job, is a criminal offence and people should refrain from such actions.
