Alleged Secunda drug dealers’ cases postponed

Police get tip off and arrest Nigerians.

SECUNDA – The three alleged drug dealers who were arrested at a house in Toon van den Heever Street on Monday, 9 February, had their second court appearance yesterday and their case was postponed to Monday, 16 February for bail investigations.

Messrs Henry Nwaen and Arinze Ngene from Nigeria and Ms Noluvuyo Sali were arrested for possession of drugs and dealing in drugs after drugs to the value of one million rand were found in their house.

The police and members from the Crime Intelligence Unit and the Bike Squad searched the house on Monday and found a room full of drugs and a backroom that was presumed to be a laboratory.

“They were running a lab here,” said Secunda Police Spokesman, Lt Bettina Zondo.

* In another court case, Messrs Chibuzar Ezekwere, Emmanuel Onyekama and Favour Uba, also from Nigeria, appeared in the Secunda Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday on charges of dealing in drugs.

Mr Uba has been in custody, because he has pending cases against him and Messrs Ezekwere and Onyekama were released on bail.

They were arrested last June at a house in Anton van Wouw Street where the police found 49g of Cat.

Their case was postponed.
