The Lekwa Municipality has not begun upgrading the existing Standerton landfill site.

A municipal employee said in a previous article published in the Standerton Ibis on 28 November they will rehabilitate the existing site in February.

He also said they will cover the existing site with 150 millimetres of clay and plant grass, a process called capping.
