Police condemn illegal abortions
Police condemn those who practice illegal abortions and dumping foetuses.
eMBALENHLE – Police are concerned about the increase in illegal abortions and said foetuses are being dumped in fields and drains regularly.
Capt Magonseni Nkosi, police spokesman, said most of the foetuses are found in Extension 18.
“We strongly believe that there are person who are performing illegal abortions and we need the community to help us bring them to book.”
He also advised women who want to terminate their pregnancies, to go to government institutions that practice legal abortions.
In a recent incident a foetus was found in a trench in Extension 18.
Capt Nkosi said the place where the foetus was found, seems to be a favourite for those who dump foetuses.
