Another iIlegal miner shot dead
Members of these two group were described as armed and dangerous.
EVANDER – The police recovered the body of an alleged illegal miner man on Wednesday, 17 March near the Mpumalanga Guesthouse.
According to the police, two factions of illegal miners had an argument over stolen gold and one was shot.
Residents near the Mpumalanga Guesthouse heard gun shots and informed the police immediately.
The illegal miners fled the scene before the police arrived and they recovered the body on the side of the road.
The forensics services of the Evander Hospital removed the body from scene.
Members of these two group were described as armed and dangerous.
The old mine shaft where the incident took place, is located between Evander and Secunda.
The police are still investigating the case.
No one was arrested.
The name of the deceased has not yet been made available.
