1. Boy drowns during Kosmos 3-in-1 Marathon
What was a fun day for some, was a tragic one for others.
A seven-year-old boy drowned in one of the swimming pools at the Umuzi Lodge on 7 March.
2. Two die in accident near Graceland
Two people died in a head-on collision between Secunda and eMbalenhle near Graceland Casino on 7 March.
A Toyota Tazz and an Isuzu bakkie were involved.
Others who were injured were taken to hospital.
3. Update – Monde drowns at Umuzi Lodge
The boy who drowned on Saturday at Umuzi Lodge, is seven-year-old Monde Modungoa.
He was swimming in the outside pool and asked his grandfather, Mr Telford Mkutshwa, whether he could go to the inside swimming pool because it was getting cold outside.
He gave permission for Monde to do so.

Ek was egter aan sy dik kant en dit het hom rooi laat sien.
Ek was laat vir sy optrede by die Kruik-teater weens ander afsprake en het dus nie geweet dat ek nie foto’s van hom mag neem nie.
Foto’s mag glo net van hom geneem word tydens ’n professionele fotosessie.
5. Leslie farmer critical after being shot
A local farmer was shot in another farm attack in the area.
Mr Chris van Deventer (62) and his wife, Ms Elize van Deventer (60,) were working in the pigsty on their farm near Leslie when the electricity went off at around 11am on 1 March.
Two cell phones, a cell phone charger and a firearm (the alleged stolen property of the Van Deventer couple) were recovered.
The two suspects, both 21 years old, were arrested.
