KINROSS – Sasol held its annual sports competition at the Kinross and eMbalenhle Sasol recreational facilities over the weekend.
The event was aimed at promoting healthy living and to encourage participation and involvement in sports and recreation projects.
“This is one of the highly recognised sports events in the province and all sports teams from Mpumalanga are encouraged to participate,” said Mr Sizakele Masilela from Sasol Public Affairs.
The event was well attended by teams from as far as Mbombela and Nhlazatshe.
The results are as follow:
In netball eMbalenhle Juventas came first and eMbalenhle Untouchables came second.
In third position was Kinross and eMbalenhle Paradise came fourth.
The netball final was between Sasol Juventas and eMbalenhle Untouchable. Sasol won 19-6.
The U/13 soccer final was between eMbalenhle Prosper and Sasol Juventas. eMba won 1-0.
Sasol Juventas beat eMbalenhle Shining Stars 2-0 in the U/15 soccer match.
Kinross Blackpool beat Sasol Thistle Grove 2-1 in the U/17 soccer match and eMbalenhle Shining Stars beat Junior Celtics 1-0 in the U/19 match.
Rugby teams from Bethal and eMbalenhle also participated.
The rugby category A results are: senior team of eMbalenhle beat Bethal 22-0, the U/15 Bethal team beat eMbalenhle 17-10 and the U/13 Bethal team beat eMbalenhle 15-10.
The BU/15 Bethal team beat eMbalenhle 17-10 and the women’s Bethal rugby team beat eMbalenhle 30-15.
Mr Pat Mahlangu, coach of the eMbalenhle Rugby Club said they will play in Soweto next week.
The boxing results will only be available next week.
