Charles partners against crime

Charles want to make Sakhile a crime-free zone.

Born and bred in Sakhile, Mr Charles Msibi has devoted his life to help the community.

He is a well-known member of the Community Policing Forum (CPF).

Charles and his team have apprehended many suspects linked to criminal activities.

“We get tip-offs from the community and then follow up,” he said.

He is also the founder of Creativity Against Crime.

The group’s main aim is getting young people off the streets and away from crime.

“Crime damages communities with many people becoming victims.

“I want to ensure that people live in a safe and secure environment,” he also said.

Charles does not earn any money being a CPF member.

He does this job because he is passionate about serving the community.

He comes highly recommended and most people report criminal activities to him before they report it to the police, but he works closely with the police.

“We do not only offer our services in Sakhile, we also work in town,” he said.

They also patrol the areas where the elderly get their pension money because criminals target them on pension days.

Charles and the rest of the CPF members do encounter some challenges when doing their duties.

Some of their members have since stopped working because they do not have shoes or clothes to wear.

They also struggle with communicating with the police because they have to use their own phones to call.

Despite all these challenges, Charles is determined to make Sakhile a crime-free zone.
