Update on Operation Fiela in eMba: Police raid foreigners’ shops
Police have made quite a few arrests.

eMBALENHLE – The police are now raiding foreign national owners’ shops.
All foreign nationals without permits and passports are arrested.
Illegal cigarettes, SIM cards and fireworks were confiscated.
Residents are commending the police on the raids.
They said many of the youths usually gather at these shops and that they suspect that is were they get drugs.
eMBALENHLE – Operation Fiela is in full swing this morning.
Police have already arrested a number of illegal immigrants and the raid continues.
The Sandf is surrounding the Mandela Section as the police are doing the search.
It is alleged that a group of illegal miners ran away and were confronted by the police.
The police confiscated buckets, shovels, forks and other tools suspected of being used in illegal mining.
This multi-disciplinary operation includes various police disciplines, the SANDF, the Department of Home Affairs and the Metro Police.
It is aimed at eliminating criminal elements in the community and make neighbourhoods safer.
Brig Rudolph Adolph said the operation will decrease the crime rate in the area.
