Well known Kinross business people robbed at gunpoint

One of the suspects was still on parole.

Three armed men burst into the house of well-known business people in Kinross on Saturday, 20 June at about 2.30 pm.

Mr Solly Suluman was washing his car with a friend when one of the unknown men pointed a firearm at them and ordered them to get into the house.

They stole a box of jewellery, two watches and a Nokia Lumia cell phone.

The suspects drove off in Mr Suluman’s BMW X5.

Mr Suluman phoned friends in Leandra to look out for his car.

The suspects drove to Leandra and as they were about to enter Leandra, they abandoned the BMW X5 and got into a Mercedes Benz AMG that was already waiting for them.

Taxi operators in Leandra tried to block the road but the Mercedes bumped into one of the taxis and drove in the direction of Delmas.

The police chased the car and the suspects got out of their vehicle and fled into a veld about 15km before Delmas.

All three suspects were arrested and the firearm that was used during the house robbery, was recovered and they were taken to the Delmas Police Station.

They come from Katlehong in Gauteng.

The Mercedes Benz was apparently stolen in Brakpan on 17 June.

A case of theft was opened.

The suspects have previously committed serious crimes and one of them was still on parole.

The Kinross Police spokesman confirmed that case of house robbery was opened at Kinross Police Station.

She also said that all the stolen goods were recovered.

The suspects were also in possession of illegal firearm with ammunition.
