The Standerton Police held a supplier consultation at the town hall on 23 June.
“The aim was to attract suppliers for the police stations in our cluster,” Lt Fanie Nhlabathi, spokesman of the police, said.
Suppliers of everything from electrical goods to stationery were on hand to apply to become a supplier.
“Being such a small cluster we find it difficult to attract suppliers for our everyday needs and hope the consultation will help us in this regard,” Lt Nhlabathi also said.
Various other police stations from Piet Retief, Ermelo, Balfour and Secunda were represented.
Brig Selby Mohlala from the provincial office in Nelspruit opened the proceedings .
After the opening prayer, presentations were done by the Supply Chain and Financial Management teams from the provincial office.
The Provincial Head of Acquisition gave a vote of thanks after which a light lunch was served, followed by networking.
According to Lt Nhlabathi the next consultation session will be hosted by the Piet Retief Police on 13 September.
