Bethal Primary School recently entered the Physical Education Challenge of Supersport Lets Play.
Members from Active Education, Messrs Matthew van Rooyen and Itumelena Phiri, visited the school on Thursday, 18 June.
“Supersport is looking for the fittest school in South Africa,” said Mr Van Rooyen.
Children from 10 to 11 years old participated and the school was divided into two teams that had 45 minutes to finish the course.
The course included rope skipping, skateboarding, jumping, running and throwing balls.
The members from Active Education must visit 40 schools in Mpumalanga and three of the schools with the best score will go through to the semi-finals.
Schools of all nine provinces that win the semi-finals, will go through to the finals in November.
Mr Van Rooyen said the winning school will win a multi purpose sports facility.
The competition began earlier this year and the finals will be broadcast on television.
