Local council members and young people took to the streets in celebration of Youth Month on 27 June.
They marched from the town hall to the Sakhile Stadium in freezing conditions.
Local traffic officials were on hand to direct the march safely through town all the way to the stadium.
Woolen beanies and jackets were handed out to all who participated.
“Whenever we organise a march the weather never plays along,” one member of the public jokingly said.
Ms Caroline Morajane, mayor, gave a short speech in her chambers to all involved prior to the march.
“The message we would like to get across to the youth is to say no to drugs, xenophobia, teenage pregnancy and crime,” Ms Morajane said.
She also said young people are the future leaders of the country and must stay away from bad influences and stay in school.
On arrival at the stadium netball and soccer matches were played.
The winners of both sporting codes received a trophy and a brand new kit.
