MEC to raise R200 000 for Vaalrivier School

Mpumalanga Education MEC, Ms Reginah Mhaule, is to raise R200 000 for the Vaalrivier School.

She announced this at the school as part of the Nelson Mandela Day celebrations on 16 July.

Ms Mhaule arrived at the school to address pupils and parents and to see the building progress of the metal workshop, that the department allocated R50 000 for.

When she saw that it had not yet been completed, she asked how much it will cost to complete.

She was told R200 000 and much to the surprise of all present, promised to raise the funds.

In a tribute to Mr Nelson Mandela she said Mandela, a son of the soil, was the greatest liberator of the 20th century.
