Policewomen take part in roadblock

Policewomen had a joint roadblock operation.

EVANDER – Policewomen from Evander and Kinross police stations and the K9 Unit, had a joint operation in Evander and Kinross.

More than 80 vehicles were stopped and searched and traffic fines were also issued to non compliant road users.

One motorist was arrested for being in possession of dagga.

The Kinross Police spokesman, Sgt Matselane Nhlapo, said they are proud as policewomen to serve in law enforcement and they not only make sure that roads are safe, but they also prevent crime.

She said more women should consider a career in the police force.
