TRICHARDT – The Trichardt Community Police Forum (CPF) has big plans to improve the safety and circumstances of Trichardt.
Many people ask what the CPF is.
The CPF is a platform where community members and the police meet to discuss local crime prevention.
The functions of the CPF are to promote accountability of the local police to the community.
They monitor the effectiveness and efficiency of the local police that are serving the community.
Local police priorities are examined, provision of services are evaluated, as well as the way that complaints and charges are handled.
The Trichardt CPF members already have the patrolling of residential as well as business areas in place.
Members help to keep records, write reports and mark recommendations to the station commissioners, provincial commissioner and the MEC.
The CPF will also ask questions about local policing matters and request inquiries when necessary.
Trichardt CPF is already very active, but still needs the community’s help.
Some of the projects that are already in place, are a cell phone number for communication with the CPF by the community, as well as the patrolling of the streets of Trichardt.
They are busy putting other bigger projects in place and is hard at work to make them a reality.
The CPF is currently assisting the Govan Mbeki Municipality to fix streets lights, as well as securing electricity distribution boxes that have been forced open or are damaged.
All members of the community are urged to assist the CPF in this matter.
When you see a street light that is broken, you can send an SMS with the street address to the CPFs’ cell phone number.
They will draw up a map in order to have street lights fixed as quickly as possible.
