Department of Education intervenes

The pupils who passed Grade 9 and were willing to be in the programme, were accommodated at Khunjuliwe Secondary School which is now a Mathematics Physical Sciences and Technology (MST) Academy

The Department of Education has intervened after frustrated Khunjuliwe Secondary School pupils marched to the circuit offices on 15 January.

According to the department, they explained to both the parents and the unhappy pupils how the Mathematics, Physical Sciences and Technology Programme (MST) will work.

The pupils who passed Grade 9 and were willing to be in the programme, were accommodated at Khunjuliwe Secondary School which is now a Mathematics Physical Sciences and Technology (MST) Academy.

The MST Programme include the following subjects – Home Language, first additional Language, Mathematics, Life Orientation, Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, Information Technology, Computer Applications Technology and Accounting.

Home Language, First Additional Language, Mathematics and Life Orientation are the core subjects and Physical Sciences is a compulsory subject in the programme.
