A housebreaking went south after one suspect was shot and killed and his two accomplices  were arrested.

Four men  broke into a house in Lantana Crescent in Florapark earlier today.

According to Lt Fanie Nhlabathi, communications officer of the Standerton Police, the men stole a television, a microwave and other appliances.

“A neighbour saw them and notified Kasselman Security Services,” Lt Nhlabathi said.

Update: Mr Jandré Kasselman confirmed to the Standerton Advertiser that the last suspect was successfully arrested.

He said they fled in a white minibus when Kasselman arrived on the scene.

According to him, the men drove towards Ermelo on the R39 with Kasselman Security Services, the AfriForum Neighbourhood Watch, local farmers and the Standerton Police in hot pursuit.

Even aircraft offered assistance.

One suspect is still on the run.
