Jabulani Mosia died at the Standerton Hospital after he was shot at Emoyeni Tavern on 5 March.
According to eyewitnesses, a fight broke out between Mr Mosia and the security guard and the tavern owner shot Mr Mosia.
The police received a notification about the incident through the police radio.
