Thieves recently broke into Madi Combined School and stole goods worth R8 150.
The items include seven bicycles, three packs of Typek papers, two brooms, a mop, a kettle and six plates.
According to the complainant, he discovered that there was a break-in upon arrival at the school.
He said the lock on one of the doors was broken and some of the school’s property were missing.
The complainant made this discovery when he was opening classes for the churches that congregate at the school.
He called Ms Nokuthula Nkabinde, principal, and informed her about the break-in.
The complainant also reported the theft to the police.
According to him, this is not first time thieves break into the school.
In an article published in the Standerton Advertiser on 29 May last year, it was reported that goods worth R2 439, were stolen during a break-in.
Sgt George Dhlamini, communication officer of the Sakhile Police, urged the community to be on the lookout for thieves and illegal activities in schools.
