eMBALENHLE – A Somali shop owner was stabbed and killed in his shop during an alleged robbery on Friday, 15 April.
The police said the 44-year- old man was with his shop assistant, believed to be from Malawi, when the murder happened.
The assistant allegedly called his a fellow countryman at about 5am, informing him of the alleged robbery.
The deceased’s countrymen mobilised themselves and broke the padlock which was locked from outside.
Capt Magonseni Nkosi, police spokesman, said the owner was lying in a pool of blood with three stab wounds to the chest.
“The shop assistant was nowhere to be found.
“His travelling bag, money, airtime and cigarettes were missing.”
A murder case has been opened and no one has been arrested yet.
