eMBALENHLE – Police are calling on residents not to take the law into their own hands and that they should report any crime to the police.
Capt Magonseni Nkosi, police spokesman, said the police are concerned about the increase in mob justice incidents in the area.
“In some cases suspects are killed. No one is above the law and everybody should live by the law. The victims of crime often become the suspects because of mob justice. We will make sure that those implicated in mob justice are persecuted.”
He advised that residents should contact the police immediately before trying to apprehend assailants.
