A man was caught with a bag full of tools in Brits Street in Meyerville on 14 May.
According to Mr Jabu Hlophe of Kasselman Security Services, he stopped the man and asked to search him while on patrol .
“He put down the bag that he was carrying and opened it,” Mr Hlophe said.
According to him, the man said he was a handyman and uses the tools for work.
Mr Hlophe attended to the radio and the man fled the scene while Mr Hlophe was busy.
The man left the tools on the ground.
According to Mr Hlophe, the man jumped over a fence into one of the residences in Meyerville.
“We tried to find him, to no avail,” Mr Hlophe also said.
