Three arrested for theft

Suspects to appear in Secunda Magistrate’s Court for theft.

CHARL CILLIERS – Three people were arrested for being in possession of stolen property recently.

They were apprehended after the police had received a top off that they had committed a crime in Standerton and were going to pass through the area.

Sgt Thabisile Mtshali, police spokesman, said two men and a woman entered a house in Standerton and pretended they were interested in buying it.

“They took photos of the house and the woman asked to use the toilet.

“While the housekeeper was showing her where the toilet was, the men allegedly stole a laptop, a tablet and other items.

“Neighbours noticed the unusual activity at the house and contacted the home owner and Standerton Police.”

The three suspects appeared in the Secunda Magistrate’s Court and their case was postponed to 24 May.
