eMBALENHLE – A woman was repeatedly raped by four unknown men in a field in Extension 26.
It is alleged that the suspects found the woman at the traffic circle near the Mandela Section and dragged her into the field.
Police said the woman was kidnapped at 8pm and was released at 3am.
The suspects are still at large.
In a separate incident, a woman was shot dead outside a tavern in the Mandela Section.
According to the police, she was with friends inside the tavern when two men called approached her and thereafter, accompanied her outside.
It is alleged that they were seen talking with the woman for a while and minutes later a gunshot was heard.
The woman was unconscious and was taken to the Evander Hospital where she died.
The reason for the killing is unknown and police are still investigating.
No one has been arrested yet.
