A group of Ward 3 community members appeared in the Standerton Magistrate’s Court on 3 June after Ms Mapaseka Molaba, ANC PR Councillor, opened a case against them. According to these community members, Ms Molaba alleged that they stopped her from campaigning for her party.
They denied these allegations, saying they only raised concerns to the ANC after the candidate they nominated to contest as ward councillor in the upcoming municipal elections was changed.
According to them, the community nominated Mr Michael Mphuthi and not Ms Molaba who is now the candidate for the elections in Ward 3.
These frustrated community members forwarded their complaints to the ANC regional office and later to the provincial office.
