TRICHARDT – Captain Noyise Ngqangashe issued a media statement at the offices of the Trichardt SAPS.
According to this statement, a 44-year-old woman died in Visser Street next to the Trichardt bridge on 19 June.
Police received a telephonic complaint about a lady crying from the bushes at Visser Street.
Upon their arrival, they found two males leading them to the victim.
She was still alive and had sustained a serious head wound but she was unable to talk.
The local ambulance department rushed to the scene where the woman was pronounced dead by the paramedics.
According to two men who passed the area, they heard a noise from the bushes while they were walking nearby.
When they approached the bushes, they found the victim who they identified as their neighbour.
A case of murder is open and the investigation regarding this case is ongoing.
The motive for the killing is unknown and the suspect is still at large and unknown.
The SAPS Trichardt is pleading with the community with information regarding this matter to contact Detective Sergeant Fakude on 017 638 0241.
Constable Valencia Koma, spokesperson for Trichardt SAPS said: “We are also urging the community not to walk alone in dark areas as this very dangerous.
“If they go to entertainment places, they must ensure that they leave in groups and they do not leave anyone behind.”
