eMbalenhle- Tip of from the community led to the successful arrest of a couple in Ext 15 today.
The 32 year old woman and her 30-year-old boyfriend were arrested after community members contacted police.
After receiving information, police rushed to the scene where the couple were relaxing in their one-room shack. Police requested to search the room and permission was granted.
Within a short space of time, police realised that the mattress was cut open. One member put his hand in the opening which came with 127 pieces of small plastic bags covering brown powder believed to be Nyaope.
When interviewed about the powder, the couple could not give an explanation. The confiscated Nyaope is estimated at R5 000 street value.
They were then arrested and will appear at Evander magistrate court on Monday.
