
Alexander Mohoebi, Palesa Ditabane and Tshepo Masiheleo, who were arrested in connection with the murder of Bongani Nkumba, a traffic officer, appeared in the Standerton Magistrate’s Court earlier today.
This was their first court appearance in Standerton after they appeared in court at Ladybrand in the Free State on 8 August.
The case was postponed to 29 August for a formal bail application.
The three suspects who face murder, possession of an unlicensed firearm and theft of state property charges, are still in police custody.
Traffic officers, police officers, firefighters and politician came out in their numbers, with t-shirts written ‘Police Lives Matter’, to picket outside the court.
