Pupil arrested for dealing in drugs

Police call on residents to fight drugs.

eMZINONI – Six pupils from eMzinoni High School were arrested for being in possession of dagga during the police’s school search programme on Wednesday, 7 September.

Five of the pupils were later released to their parents because they are underage, however a 18-year-old pupil is still in custody.

Const Cynthia Mtsweni, Spokesman, said the police are working around the clock to eradicate crime in the area.

She it is sad that children are involved in drug dealings and called on the community to protect their children.

“We have zero-tolerance for crime and the community must join us in the fight against crime.

“I appeal to the community to expose those who are dealing drugs, because they are killing the community.”

Three other people were arrested for dealing in Nyaope on the same day.

The suspects appeared in the Bethal Magistrate’s Court for bail application.
