Scholar transport blamed for late arrival of Kinross learners

A teacher who wished to stay anonymous, confirmed that learners usually only arrive between 9.30am and 10am at school.

KINROSS – Parents of eMdibini Combined School learners are concerned about the lack of scholar transport.

They said the scholar transport often has breakdowns and cause them to arrive late for school.

“The problem of scholar transport and non roadworthy buses is not new and even the department is aware of it,” said a parent who blamed the Department of Education for not building non paying fee schools in Kinross.

Some learners said they were absent from school many times last year, because buses did not pitch up and no alternative transport was arranged.

The newspaper contacted the Department of Public Works, Roads and Transport for comment, but has not yet received any.
