Road works continue on the R50 Road

Another 5km on the base level of the surface will be repaired by mid February

Dreykon Klus Civils confirmed that 4km of the R50 Road between Standerton and Leandra have been repaired.

It is part of the three-year-project that began on 30 July last year.

According to Mr David Jakwe of Dreykon Klus Civils, another 5km on the base level of the surface will be repaired by mid-February.

“Altogether 9km of the road will be completed in February,” Mr Jakwe said.

They will then begin working on the remaining 31km.

Dreykon Klus Civils has employed 80 locals for the project and local subcontractors were appointed to achieve the targeted Contract Participation Goal (CPG).

Dreykon Klus Civils completed the upgrade on the R39 Road between Standerton and Ermelo about three months before the actual completion date.

They requested road users to work with them so they can successfully complete the project and urged motorists to use alternative routes as the signs indicate.

The project is funded by the Department of Public Works, Roads and Transport.
